YTSPlay stores the account information and preferences needed to provide your personal music collection.
Information stored by YTSPlay
Your account includes your email address, username, protected password, sign-in sessions and any security settings you enable. Your library, playlists, favourites and listening history are associated with your account. We also record the version and time of your playback agreement and your current YouTube playback choice.
Private collections require your authenticated account. Public YouTube search metadata is cached and shared to make searches faster. Search requests are sent to the configured YouTube metadata provider. The app records listening history after playback starts for a verified signed-in account.
Discovery choices and community activity
You can select a discovery country, optional region or city, and music languages in Discover. A country suggestion is not saved until you confirm it. Discovery does not request precise coordinates or store IP-location history. Your selected discovery region can be attached to your Rises, favourites and qualified listens to calculate aggregated trends; it is not a statement of your physical location. Public rankings do not show individual listeners or their locations.
Location suggestions are reviewed by authorized administrators. Shared track-language corrections save directly and retain edit history. Your username and submission are visible to those reviewers.
Service activity and administration
While the signed-in app is visible, YTSPlay records a daily activity marker and approximate presence in a five-minute window. Administrators see aggregate activity and growth counts, not your listening history. Daily markers are retained for 400 days and removed with your account; presence expires automatically. No device fingerprint, IP history or precise location is collected for these counts. Administrative actions are recorded for 365 days.
Public playlists
Playlists start private. If you choose Public, signed-in users can search for the playlist or open its link and listen to its available YouTube videos. Creators manage their playlists; authorized administrators can restrict or delete application-owned public playlist records under our community guidelines. Private files and your account identity are not included. Turning Public off removes shared access. Name-availability checks reveal whether a name is taken, not who owns it.
YouTube and Google
YTSPlay uses YouTube API Services, including the official embedded player. When you allow playback and select a video, your browser connects to YouTube. YouTube may receive your IP address, browser and playback information, serve advertisements, and use cookies or similar technology under the Google Privacy Policy. Public cover images also load from YouTube image servers.
YTSPlay never receives your Google password. If Google sign-in is enabled and you choose it, Google sends a verified email address and an account identifier to create or identify your account. We do not request access to your Google files or YouTube account, and do not store Google access or refresh tokens. The YouTube Terms of Service govern YouTube playback.
Controls and storage
You can turn YouTube playback off in Settings, clear your listening history in the app. Turning playback off stops and removes the embedded player; it does not erase information already received by YouTube. Listening history is retained for up to 90 days. You can deactivate your account in Account security after confirming your identity. Access and public sharing stop immediately. Your account, playlists and saved data are kept for 30 days. To cancel deletion, use secure account recovery and verify your email before the deadline, then sign in normally to use your data. Public playlists remain private until you share them again. After 30 days, recovery ends and a background job permanently removes account records and private files. A minimal deletion ledger is kept to prevent restoration from backups. Contact messages are retained for up to 90 days. Public playlist video reports include the selected playlist/video entry, your account, reason and any details you provide; authorized administrators review them. Resolved reports are normally removed after 90 days, except for pending appeals or retention holds.
Sign-in cookies keep your account session secure. Appearance preferences are saved on your device. Your playback agreement is stored with your account, so it remains available across sign-ins and devices.
Public playlist safety and review
Our community guidelines apply to public playlist titles, descriptions, links and video collections. Configurable phrase rules flag potential concerns for contextual administrator review. Authorized superusers must verify multi-factor authentication to access moderation. They can inspect publicly shared playlist records and associated public YouTube metadata, but do not gain playback or download access to private audio.
A temporary disable lasts at least 30 days and requires approval of current content before public availability returns. A confirmed block removes public access immediately and schedules deletion of the YTS playlist record after 30 days. Immediate deletion is a separate irreversible action. Pending appeals and legal retention holds pause deletion. These actions do not delete or alter videos hosted by YouTube.
Five distinct confirmed block or deletion cases deactivate an account. Keyword flags and temporary disables do not count; a successful appeal reverses the corresponding strike. A deactivated owner can verify their email and request administrator-approved reactivation. Approval preserves history, starts a new enforcement cycle, and does not republish restricted playlists.
Moderation records include the relevant first-party text, reasons, case history, administrator actions and review requests. Notices are normally retained for 365 days. Case history is retained while the account exists for enforcement and appeals, then normally removed 365 days after the retained case was last updated once the account and playlist are gone. Open appeals and documented retention obligations can extend these periods and postpone account deletion. Cached YouTube metadata follows its separate expiry and refresh rules; moderation does not retain copies of provider media. Contact us about access, correction or deletion requests.
